ARTCIRCLE Project

ARTCIRCLE is an art and design project initiated by INSILVIS and curated by Massimiliano Pavon. It is designed to foster a productive dialogue between contemporary design and artistic craftsmanship.
It is an initiative that forms part of the finest Italian cultural tradition, where technical expertise, formal experimentation and artistic intuition converge to create a unified language.

The project takes shape through the creation of design objects of significant artistic value that are designed to fulfil a specific function.
Each piece is handcrafted in limited editions and reinterpreted by the artists as unique works: numbered and unrepeatable, they convey a personal vision.

The artists involved in the initial phase are either teachers at the prestigious Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo or have trained there.
This shared cultural background is reflected in the works, which often draw on mosaic art techniques, materials and sensibilities, reinterpreted in a contemporary way. Spilimbergo, a charming medieval village overlooking the Tagliamento River in Friuli Venezia Giulia, represents the geographical and cultural context from which the project originates.

The first item in the ARTCIRCLE collection is a circular, wall-mounted coat rack made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel.

The choice of shape is no coincidence: the simplicity and symbolic power of the circle inspired the project's name, ARTCIRCLE, which has a dual meaning.
On the one hand, it represents the 'circle' as a creative community and a network of relationships between artists and designers who are united by a shared vision.
On the other hand, it represents the circle as a geometric and symbolic figure — an emblem of harmony, continuity and completeness in artistic creation.

The first interpretations of this concept are now available: unique, numbered works by Cristina De Leoni, Stefano Jus and Luca Nardin, all of whom are teachers at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, which bring the idea of ARTCIRCLE to life in the form of highly refined and rigorous pieces.
